Mr. Werth is an independent consultant and angel investor helping early-stage companies review their business plans and raise seed money. Primary areas of focus include semiconductors, telecom, datacom, wireless, security, and internet-related markets. In 1992, Mr. Werth was co-founder and Vice President of Marketing for Integrated Telecom Technology (IgT) in Gaithersburg, MD where he was responsible for all aspects of marketing high-speed integrated circuits for use in communications equipment. Other major responsibilities included establishing a worldwide network of rep firms and negotiating business partnerships. IgT was acquired by PMC-Sierra in May, 1998 for $55M. Prior to starting IgT, Mr. Werth was the Marketing Product Line Manager at Telecommunications Techniques Corporation (TTC) in Germanton, MD where he was responsible for new product development, product market positioning, competitive analysis, and marketing launch campaigns. Mr. Werth grew the product line from $6.5M to $20M in sales. TTC has since merged with other companies to become Acterna, and was acquired by JDS Uniphase. Prior to his time at TTC, Mr. Werth worked as a Program Manager and Hardware Design Engineer at Hughes Network Systems in Germantown, MD. He did extensive design work on satellite and terrestrial communications systems. Mr. Werth has nearly 30 years of experience in the communications technology marketplace. He holds both BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. While attending Michigan, Mr. Werth was elected to the engineering honorary associations of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.
